Every time I visit Phuket, Lub D is my go-to accommodation. Back in 2018, we were informed that there will be upcoming renovations and we were glad to have stayed again after it (post pandemic). Staying here has always been a great experience and here are the reasons why....

Location, Location, Location!

Personally, Lub D is among those hotels that boast a prime location that's hard to ignore. Nope, you just can't. Situated nearby the Patong’s lively red light district, it is right where the action is, from places to drink to places where things happen (if you know what I mean). 😜

Food? No problem! Whether you are a foodie or just want to have good food every time, you will love the abundance of local food shops scattered around the hotel. Want to taste the authentic phad Thai or the tangy green curry? How about a serving of fresh coconut drink? You are in the right spot!

Craving a massage to relax after a day of activities? Check! Looking to book a tour for activities in Phuket? Another check! There are plenty of tour operators and massage parlors within arm’s reach (and I mean literally). The best part...you won't have to spend a fortune due to several options, so the rates are pocket-friendly. 

And of course, let's not forget the beach - the Patong beach is just a short walk away from the hotel, making it easy to dip your toes in the sand or catch a sunset without hassle. There are also different activities that you can join or just enjoy watching by the beach.

Warmth and Friendliness

One of the highlights of staying at Lub D was the staff - the customer service is notable. The receptionist is accommodating from the check-in to check-out while the other staff greet you with a smile when you meet them along the hallway or within the vicinity. Their friendliness helps add a personal touch that really made the experience stand out. 🫡

Comfortable Amenities

Although the hotel is not too grand, it has amenities that cater to both relaxation and fun. The glass-walled pool is a great spot to unwind after a day of exploring - the size is not massive but spacious enough to accommodate a decent number of people. 

Are you in for a game? There's a pool table and foosball to play on with friend(s) or other guests. The entertainment room provides a sanctuary for those downtime moments. We spent our time here after check-out while waiting for our transport. 

Before and After Renovation

Feelin' lazy and don't want to go out for drinks or food? Take a sip of your favourite drinks or a bite of some popular dishes at the hotel's restaurant and bar just across the pool area. 

Our stay included a free breakfast which is good, but the choices were somewhat limited; nonetheless, it wasn't a problem since we could always go out.

Meanwhile, the in-room amenities were the basic ones - everything you will need for a comfortable stay. The bed was plush and inviting, and the room itself was consistently clean and tidy with minimal decorations. It was evident that the hotel takes pride in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and comfort. If you book a room with balcony, there's a portable laundry rack outside to hang wet clothes or towels.

Budget-Friendly Bliss

Probably the most impressive aspect of the hotel is its affordability. For a budget-conscious traveler, like me, it offers an excellent balance of comfort and cost. It’s no surprise that the place is popular among backpackers, solo travellers or a group of two. The value for money is exceptional, making it a clever option for anyone looking to stretch their travel budget without sacrificing quality.
