Capri By Faser Hotel: The "Suite" Life in JB

Stressed, overworked and worn out body and soul... all these call out for a quick getaway. And when I say "quick" it simply means nearby destination (no choice). T_T

Choosing a decent accommodation is a top priority to make the most of our short holiday - a lesson learned, never compromise comfort for price (cheap). This time we opted for the 4-star hotel, Capri by Fraser in Johor Bahru, to ensure peace of mind and for us to relax and rejuvenate. It was also sort-of-a late birthday getaway.... ^_^

Conveniently located in the downtown core, Capri by Fraser makes a practical choice when visiting JB for either business or leisure. Its prime location is merely a stone throw away from the JB Customs, Immigration, and Quarantine (CIQ) Complex - perhaps less than 15 minutes walk.

The CIQ building even looked nearer from the hotel's swimming pool area.

With its top-quality accommodation and excellent service, it is no surprise that Capri by Fraser was featured in some magazines.

Aside from being nearby the CIQ complex, guests can enjoy convenient access to an assortment of shopping, dining and entertainment options as well as several attractions. Anything needed, shopping malls such as City Square Mall or Komtar JBCC are just walking distance.

The first thing I noticed - the reception area was super spacious like hundreds of people can fit in. >_<  The interior design also caught my attention, especially the delightful artificial green walls which evoke serenity and add in elements of nature.

It was time to check in! We booked a One-Bedroom Deluxe with sea view, which made me truly excited to see the room...

Before touring the suite, let's take a peek at the facilities of Capri.

First destination was the swimming pool which was situated at the second level. Upon setting foot on the deck, I felt like the waters and lounge chair were calling me....they looked inviting! But we needed to fill our stomach first since we hadn't breakfast and lunch yet. Arg...

On the same level, there was a 24-hour game and laundry room - also known as Spin & Play. So while waiting for the laundry, we played PS4. hahaha.... and yes I won several games (not bad for a first timer) >_<

Else, guests can sweat out at the well-equipped 24-hour gymnasium, also located at the second level.

Hungry? No worries, the hotel's Caprilicious offers great food choices (an all-day dining restaurant with indoor & outdoor dining area). Another option is the Delite for quick bites.

Alright, it's time to check out the suite.....

Suite Tour

Our room is just one of the 316 guestrooms at Capri by Fraser. Each room is tastefully furnished with earth-tone hues, exuding an effortless charm and a sense of tranquility.

Our suite features a modern and well-equipped living area, mini-kitchenette, dining, bathroom and bedroom.

Living Area

I love the couch in the living area, so comfortable to sit or lay on....and the view from it was exquisite. Oh wait, there were a few skyrise buildings blocking our sea view. \(0_o)/ A portion of the floor was also carpeted, making it truly comfy on the feet.

We had a bird's eye view (erm okay that's a bit exaggerated, just a good view) of the causeway that linked JB to Woodlands.. and yes we witnessed the heavy traffic heading towards JB.

An HD TV offers entertainment in the living area with a few cable channels. All info about the hotel is just a few clicks away on the TV.

Mini Kitchenette/Dining Area

Another reason for my excitement was the kitchenette since I was looking forward to cooking whatever I (we) wanted to eat. As mentioned, it's fully furnished with the basic utensils for cooking and eating such as pan, pot, serving plates, cutlery, chopping board, ladles, pot holders and wine glasses.

During our stay, I managed to use the microwave and the induction cooker - showing off my cooking prowess in preparing a few dishes. hahaha. Of course, the fridge was extremely useful in storing the food.

Let's take a closer look at one of my favourite parts of the suite.

The usual, we had a complimentary instant coffee, tea and bottles of water. I had so much fun working my magic and exploiting this area. 😆

I admired the resourcefulness of the interior designer, adding several cabinets in the room - from the main door to the kitchen area. Then there's a huge mirror on the wall facing the dining table. Yup, I danced and sang my heart out while prepping food. >_<

Bathroom

And now down to my most favourite part, the bathroom. It was.....spacious! ^_^ Wanna break dance? Go for it!

The main mirror was huge, the counter top was tidy with a design that mimic the riverside pebbles and there's a small, retractable vanity mirror with built-in light. How good is that? Branded toiletries are available with hair dyer and weighing scale. Errmm, why there's a weighing scale? hahaha

Bathtub!!! ~(^3^)~ 😍 The spot where I held my 1-hour concert while soaking my body on bubbled, warm waters. >_< Yes, this place became my temporary sanctuary, aside from the bedroom and the kitchen...oh wait, that makes the entire suite. hahaha

The bathroom can be accessed via the bedroom or the kitchen.

Bedroom

Our bedroom was equipped with another TV, which we didn't really use, as well as clothes rack/cabinet, slippers, safe box and iron with ironing board.

Oh my, the bed was super comfortable to sleep on with the soft pillows. It'll lull you to a deep slumber once your back touches the mattress. The window was covered with 2 layers of curtains which prevented the light from coming in while we were asleep until past noon time.

Originally, we were given a suite at the 16th level but we requested a higher level and so we were transferred to the 32nd level. hahaha..

Other facilities include free Wi-Fi in all rooms and public areas, 24-hour front desk and customer service, daily housekeeping, luggage storage and complimentary shuttle bus to surrounding areas. We even saw a mini-shop just outside the building - near the main hotel entrance.

Our overall experience was indeed splendid - it was a "sweet" life! Comfort, accessibility, rate and service were all fused into one accommodation... and that is Capri by Fraser.

With impressive guestrooms and first-class service, it is definitely worth the price. I would love to stay again! Thanks for making my post-birthday celebration awesome, Capri!

And special thanks to someone who's really good at picking a hotel and for being so supportive.
