Three Best Things About Marriage

Getting married - tying the knot, getting hitched, walking down the aisle, jumping the broom etc. - so many different terms; but, all of them have similar meaning. Growing up, most girls dream of finding her prince charming someday - who would not?!. As a quote goes, "It is every girl's dream to walk down the aisle towards the man she truly loves”. From the proposal, preparation up to the big day, everything seems so wonderful, exciting and fun (not thinking ‘bout the budget). But with a lot of failed marriages these days, many might ponder if getting married is still worth it. (At this very moment while writing this article, I don’t have a wedding band yet) Nonetheless, here are three of the best things that lots of people appreciate about marriage.

Someone to Come Home to

Okay, so there are people who love the serenity of being alone – they are known as introverts. But, isn’t great to come home to someone after a tedious day at the office? The thought of someone is waiting for you at home every day, every night can already rejuvenate a worn and tired soul. Being married means that your better-half is looking forward to seeing you step a foot in the door. Having a loving wife or husband simply suggests that there is someone who will congratulate you for a job well done, hug you when you’re down and cheer you up you feel bad. Indeed, it is truly dreadful to go home to an empty house and to know that no one is there whom you can share whatever happened to your day.

Someone Who Tells the Truth

Hearing the truth is sometimes hurtful. Even if how painful and unpleasant it is, knowing the truth is always right. Commonly, a wife would always tell her husband that his choice of necktie does not complement with his polo. Or, the overall getup is not that pleasing. Who would have the courage to tell a husband about this? – Wife. On the other hand, a husband will never fail to notice how his wife looks. Whether the dress is too short, the neckline is so revealing or the dress looks awful, the husband always tells the unvarnished truth. Come on! Even the closest friend you have or your best friend might hesitate to tell you some hard-to-say info.

Someone to Love You Unconditionally

Fact is, people get married because love bound them together (Hopefully). That should be the reason. Love and acceptance are just two of the primary ingredients in a marriage. Whether you snore when you sleep or your feet stink when you take off your shoes, these should never matter. If someone loves you for who you are, he/she will tell you the hard truth and will still be in love with you. Obviously, everyone wants to be loved and accepted. But the reality, it is difficult to find this. That is the reason why marriage is a great thing simply because you can be with that someone who will love you just the way you are.
